From what I have read and seen, these posters are spectacular works of the NFL theme art harkening back to a classic era in team history. These are revered as some of the nicest team posters ever produced.See examples of these Posters in the photos. Actual Posters may be slightly different. The second type of Posters were produced in 1984 by a Tennessee-based company called Pro Sports inc. (A Henco Company) that took over the NFL Licensing from DAMAC INC.
These New posters were in the same format - 23? Size with a white-border with team-colored piping around the perimeter.
However, from what I understand, the artwork may not be as good as the pre 1983 Posters, and after two years the line was abandoned. While these1984 releases likely are not as artistically magnificent as the DAMAC releases, they are extremely rare and difficult to find (particularly in unopened condition).
It appears the new artwork was only made for teams that had some significant change (like moving, logo or colors). Indianapolis Colts (1984), Los Angeles Raiders (1984), New Orleans Saints (1984), San Francisco 49ers (1984). I do not know what the artwork looks like on these Posters as I cannot find any examples, but the border and size are identical to the DAMAC INC.The third type of Posters were also produced in 1984 by Pro Sports inc. These Posters were called Super Action Series NFL Properties. From what I have seen, these are beautiful 24"x36" posters. They largely featured the artwork of an official NFL artist of the time with the last name Brown. The teams that are included in this release include.
Buffalo Bills (Bills defensive line demolishing a Colts ball carrier). New England Patriots (I could find no example of this rare poster). Poster is of Steve Largent, Hall of Fame wide receiver and all-time Seahawks great. See photo examples of the Bills and Seahawks Posters. The fourth type of Posters were from NFL Pro Sports Inc.These Posters were from 1985 and I cannot seem to find any example of what they may look like as they are noted to be exceptionally rare from what I have read. The rolled part of the Poster does not show any team name, or many distinguishing characteristics. The size appears to be 24"x36".
The teams included in this group were. Cleveland Browns (dark brown color poster), Dallas Cowboys (black with a blue stripe and part of a player showing), Green Bay Packers (dark color with a packer helmet showing and part of a body), Philadelphia Eagles (all white), St. Louis Cardinals (all dark red). I believe these were the last NFL team posters made by NFL Pro Sports Inc.
Before they went out of business. The posters are likely exceptionally rare, particularly in unopened mint condition. Please message me if you know what these posters look like when opened. Please let me know if you would like any additional photos or have any questions.
