WWII Japanese Battery Commander's telescope binoculars in metal case in great condition nearly clear view when you look in them just the right side has some small dirt specks mostly out towards the outer edge and they are tiny specks but want to describe the view as best I can. Lenses appear to be in very good shape not scratched up no cracks or chips, no separation, and no fungus inside. The view is quite good on both sides and both sides point to the same distant object viewing downrange.

You can see very far with this set and you have a large field of view. Right side view has lines and numbers a small grid scale in the right side view for distance targeting both elevation and windage readings. Grid scale should be visible in my pictures which were both taken looking at a boat about 600 yards distant. I enjoyed the set very much you can use without tripod it has feet as you can see on the aiming circle. All of the levers work and all of the functions on the unit work.

You can adjust the eye pieces for wider spread, they have an adjustment. The 2 small center handles in the photo are used to move them.

Each eye piece focuses separately another great feature. Unit has 15 X 4 degrees marked on it, I believe that is the power and also serial number 2893 on it and TO KO in the middle of the name plate at center. Binoculars turn well side to side with knob on the aiming circle and up and down with another knob all movement is controlled very nicely. All adjustment movements are smooth action and precise. All serial numbers 2893 match for top binoculars and 2893 bottom aiming circle and also same number 2893 on the metal storage can or case. Bubble level for the aiming circle is intact and very usable. The metal storage case is absolutely original to the set. There are no lenses shades in the small compartment at the bottom of the metal case.

The lid case latches are intact and sound. The top and the side of the case has the partially visible name and address of the vet/person brought or sent home to. A little normal use wear on back corners of metal case lid, should be pictured. Some use and storage dents visible on the metal case. I have looked at the moon, looked across the lake, and also all around neighborhood and had a lot of fun a great piece of useable WWII history.

This is a nice set of matching Japanese Optics. The optics themselves stand about 24 inches tall.

On top of the aiming circle a little taller. Set has a lot of the tie downs in the case and a few brackets. One of the two inner topside case brackets is broken at its hinge as pictured, bracket still fastens at other end.

No wood tripod comes with, don't have a tripod for this set. Large set in the metal case is heavy probably over 50 pounds. Matching Numbers Set would make a SUPERB addition to any Japanese or optics collection! Large original Japanese WW2 rope handles on both sides of the metal case. Both binoculars eyecups are original and intact on the scope. Mostly clear glass, no scratches observed or bad fogging of any sorts or lens separation. I don't think the optics have ever been taken apart for servicing. No blemishes or bad scratches. All symbols clear and undistorted. All levers and knobs free moving and seem to be working properly. Range Distance Scale Spotting Grid in right eyepiece view. Bubble Level for the aiming circle is intact and very usable. Very Good view downrange on both sides.

A little internal dust noticed in both the right and left eyepiece view. A few tiny black possibly floating specks in the right side view. Overall these are really in fantastic shape for a rare complete original matching set of WWII optics especially with the combination of the matching serial numbered metal storage case. Unit probably weighs over 50 pounds.
