Lionel- O27 No. 1595 Marine Battlefront Special All Original From 1958
For your consideration is this LIONEL "O27" MARINE BATTLEFRONT SPECIAL SET from 1958 consisting of the following pieces. 1625 STEAM SWITCHER and TENDER. The engine is in very good condition , showing minimal ware on its pick-ups and wheels. It operates as it should.
The "E"-Unit and head light operate as they should. The tender shows some minor faint scratch's along the sides. Nothing that distracts from its appearance.
There is very minor surface rust on the underside metal tab that operates the rear coupler. The AAR trucks are in very good condition. 6804 MARINE CORPS ANTI-AIRCRAFT AND SOUND TRUCK CAR - The flat car is clean and bright. The AAR trucks are clean with no signs of rust at the couplers. The steps and the brake wheel are all there. The anti-aircraft truck has the PYRO. Logo and a faint #5 on the inside of the truck cab. The AA gun has the #2 and the gun seat has a small #3. The Sound truck has the PYRO logo and the #6 on the inside of the cab. The seat shows the #5 under it. 6806 MARINE CORPS RADAR AND MEDICAL TRUCK CAR - The flat car is clean and bright. The AAR trucks are clean , but there is a very slight sign of rust on one end at the coupler. The steps and brake wheel are all there. The Radar truck has the PYRO logo and a faint #5 on the inside of the truck cab.The radar unit has the PYRO logo on the center bar on the back of the unit and the words " mobile radar" on the front top of the unit. The seat has the #4 under it. 6808 MARINE CORPS TWO GUN TANK AND SEARCHLIGHT TRUCK CAR - The flat car is clean and bright. The AAR trucks are clean , but there is some minor surface rust on the metal strips that operate the couplers.
The Searchlight truck has the PYRO logo and a faint #5 on the inside of the truck cab. The searchlight has the PYRO logo and the words MOBILE-SEARCHLIGHT across the back top. The seat has the #1 under it.
The twin gun tank has the PYRO logo on the bottom. The wheels are clean and bright but there are two smudges to the plastic on the bottom. This dose not detract from its condition.
The AA gun has the # 2 under it. The elastic band has lost some elasticity , but I believe that it is original. 6017-85 LIONEL LINES SP-TYPE CABOOSE - Painted gray caboose on a black body.
This caboose is specific to this set. Only made in 58/59 , these have become hard to find in very good condition. This one is not perfect , some paint loss at the high spots , but would still rate as very good condition.
The AAR trucks are in excellent condition. There is some minor surface rust on the metal bar that operates the couplers. There are no broken or chipped steps.
I have tried to give a complete honest assessment of the condition of this set. This set would make a very nice addition to anyones collection. The item "LIONEL- O27 NO.
